Resumo: The intellectual property of the software belongs to the developer or an authorized distributor, thus the marketing of the computer program, can only be performed by them. When the user purchases any software, he doesn’t become owner of the intellectual property, he has only a temporary license to use it. Therefore, this research comes to examine the legal protection of the software under the legal aspect. In front of this context, we discuss the concept of software, its purposes, ratings and its main aspects, as well as the various forms of legal protection
