Social portrait of old age in the Unified Social Assistance System, SUAS: initial approaches

Resumo: This article reflects on how old age is portrayed and intersects with official and technical documents of social assistance policy, which serve as a basis for the consolidation and organization of SUAS in municipalities in the provision of social assistance services, programs, projects and social benefits. As a methodological strategy, bibliographic research based on old age studies was used in a perspective of totality and; documentary research through official and technical documents issued by the federal government in the area of social assistance policy. From personal impressions, we apprehend that old age in its plurality is invisible and there is a predominance in looking at this universe in the demographic and affective field, distancing itself from the field of law.

From personal impressions, we apprehend that old age in its plurality is invisible and there is a predominance in looking at this universe in the demographic and affective field, distancing itself from the field of law.Este artículo reflexiona sobre cómo se retrata la vejez y se cruza con los documentos oficiales y técnicos de la política asistencial, que sirven de base para la consolidación y organización de los SUAS en los municipios en la prestación de servicios, programas, proyectos y prestaciones sociales de asistencia social. Como estrategia metodológica, se utilizó la investigación bibliográfica basada en estudios de la vejez en una perspectiva de totalidad y; Investigación documental a través de documentos oficiales y técnicos emitidos por el gobierno federal en el ámbito de la política asistencial. A partir de impresiones personales, aprehendemos que la vejez en su pluralidad es invisible y hay un predominio en mirar este universo en el campo demográfico y afectivo, distanciándose del campo del derecho.  O presente artigo tece reflexões de como as velhices são, via de regra, retratadas e intersecionam com os documentos oficiais e técnicos da política de assistência social, que servem como base para a consolidação e organização do Sistema Único de Assistência Social, SUAS, nos municípios na provisão de serviços socioassistenciais, programas, projetos e benefícios sociais. Como estratégia metodológica, foi utilizada a pesquisa bibliográfica ancorada nos estudos da velhice numa perspectiva de totalidade e a pesquisa documental através dos documentos oficiais e técnicos emitidos pelo governo federal na área da política de assistência social.
