Knowledge of internal dental anatomy is of fundamental importance to development and success of the endodontic treatment. Due to increasing population miscegenation and possibility of factors such as gender, age and ethnicity influence the anatomical configuration of root canals, this study aimed to assess the anatomical conformation of anterior inferiors teeth in computed tomography cone-beam images on the population of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Images from 664 patients were analysed, in a total of 3,870 anterior inferiors teeth, seeking to quantify the number of roots of each element, classify the internal morphology according to Vertucci rating, check the gender and age influence in internal anatomy and determine the occurrence of anatomical bilateral asymmetry. Was identified a high incidence of two canals in central incisors (22.67%), in lateral incisors (27.48%) and canines (7.65%). All incisors had a single root and 3.29% of the canines had two roots. Relative to the symmetry of the conduits morphology, the canines had higher asymmetry when compared bilaterally (8.59%). It can be seen that the state's population has some anatomical differences in anterior inferiors teeth when compared to other populations previously studied. The CBCT is a useful tool to evaluate the root canal morphology and provides essential information to optimize the performance of endodontic treatment.
