Resumo: This thesis examines how the type of medical provider (AI vs. Human doctor)influences patients’ experienced embarrassment after a cosmetic plastic surgery. The experiment showed that the surgery being performed by an AI doctor reduced feelings of embarrassment, post-operation. However, this does not influence the customer satisfaction with the clinic and allocated doctor in the end. In addition ,the reduced embarrassment felt by consumers is not explained by the perceived agency associated with the doctor or by perceived emotions. Thus, other possible mediators might impact this relationship .Finally, managerial implications are discussed based on the findings and future research directions are suggested.
