Resumo: The impacts of the way of managing products’ life cycle exert great pressure on the planet's natural resources, making it essential to adopt a more sustainable methodology than the one at practice today. The amount of waste from ceramic products may be an opportunity to do so, not only by reusing materials that are considered waste, currently disposed of in landfills, but also by helping to create new habits. Recycling and reusing waste materials has become crucial in terms of protecting the environment and the economy, due to its impact in reducing the exploitation of natural resources, pollution, and soil contamination. The present dissertation deals with an investigation on the life cycle assessment of utilitarian and decorative ceramics, with the intention of identifying theoretical studies concerning potential destinations for fired ceramic sherds. The work has a theoretical part, where the relevant themes and concepts are presented, and a research part, where the tools are developed and the results are analyzed. It was primarily intended to understand the life cycle of ceramics in Lisbon, in factories and in workshops, understanding that there is still a significant margin for improvement in the treatment of leftover waste, intersecting the possible practices of reusing this material through repair techniques. In the end, a service was designed to extend the end of life of utilitarian and decorative ceramics by collecting ceramic shards from households, ateliers, and ceramics stores. The service aims to create a workshop for the remodel of the materials, through repair and reuse. This workshop, besides stimulating the creation of new habits - repair and waste separation - also increases the connection of the local society
