Resumo: This article aims to inventory and systematize features of a set of metallic harness linings found in different Portuguese museums. The morphological analysis of these materials serve as a starting point of reflection on several pertinent issues related to multiple domains. In this regard, the approach focuses the iconography privileged during conception of these objects, promotes the discussion of the symbolic and social nature of its use and, necessarily, undertakes an attempt to improve its chronological framework.
