School management and Leadership: the principal’s involvement in training

Resumo: The policies of continuous professional development for teachers aim to keep up with the changing of times, namely those resulting from the dissemination of different information technologies and the very sophistication of technological processes that lead to changes in the organization and management of work in school. Several studies suggest the need to think about organizational change in tandem with training. Others highlight the importance of the action of a leadership focused on curricular learning. This qualitative study aims at understanding how school principals are involved in the organization and management of the continuous training process. It identifies an overvaluation of the process of diagnosis and initial consultation of the various curricular departments and to the variation of the involvement of the school principal, at each stage of the training plan, between non-interference, formal guidance and coordination and active participation.

Vários estudos apontam para a necessidade de pensar a mudança organizacional em articulação com a formação e outros realçam a importância da ação de uma liderança focada nas aprendizagens curriculares.
