Resumo: This paper will present the police novels of the Swiss author Friedrich Dürrenmatt (1921-1990) translated into Portuguese. In a first moment, the genesis of each work and also their diegesis will be presented. Dürrenmatt's conception of literature will also be discussed, as this is the reason why the detective novels and also the other literary genres chosen by this Swiss writer were so successful, both in Switzerland and internationally. Finally, it will be highlighted the fact if the texts have reached Portugal by direct or indirect means.

Num primeiro momento serão apresentadas a génese de cada obra e também a diegese das mesmas. Será também discutida a conceção de literatura de Dürrenmatt, pois é esta a razão que levou a que os policiais e também os outros géneros literários escolhidos por este escritor helvético tivessem imenso sucesso, tanto na Suíça como também internacionalmente.
