The opportunities for integration into the labor market in the city of Ouro Preto, MG, Brazil are in need of trained professionals. In order to meet the demand for women at social risk, the proposed extension project entitled “Training Services housekeeping”, partnership signed with the program “Water, women and development”, continuous training of the Chair of the United Nations for the educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO at UFOP. This work was central to the proposals relating to the effectiveness of partnerships in tourism training. Thus it was possible to study contributions of UNESCO and the partnerships of local actors, as well as to contextualize the importance of training as a strategic resource for responsible tourism and development on a human scale and location regarding quality in the provision of hotel services in the region and describe how the training has been conducted, positive and negative aspects of the course. The method used was exploratory, with case study and qualitative research. It should point out that the study was conducted on the concrete situation of the tourist town Ouro Preto, which holds the title of World Heritage Site, which can serve as reference for others cities.
