Resumo: "Any architect is only given a short time, that of his life, so that he can participate in an evolutionary process that must be objective not to be missed; subject to the conditions in which it develops its activity, it will always have an obligation, and a natural desire, to give its personal contribution to add something new, however small its meaning may be, to this slow, but inexorable knowledges."01 The discovery of architects lost in the history of Portuguese architecture has been the subject of several narratives over the past few years. The exploration of an architect's personal archive is, for the researcher, an apprenticeship, not only about the architect in question, but above all about Architecture. Immersed in this enthusiasm, the research that now presents itself is a multifaceted account of a journey through the life and work of Francisco Figueiredo, architect of Porto, born in 1924 and recently deceased in 2019. Based on the recognition of the importance of the whole of his work, this study represents a contribution to the knowledge and interpretation of his architecture, carried out based on the idea that, one day, we will be able to further deepen our investigation about this author and our knowledge about architecture.
