Resumo: The accession in 1986, Portugal and Spain to the then European Economic Community, has brought a new opportunity for economic and social rapprochement between the two states. Tourism has gradually served as an instrument for cross-border cooperation. In our text we analyze the tourism in Luso-Galician border with a prospective analysis of cooperation in areas such as promotion, business communication and cross-border mobility. Based on a methodological approach of document analysis and a theoretical framework that considers cross-border tourism as a means of redefining identities, we focused attention on some projects of euro-regional tourism cooperation and conclude how these efforts should be intensified and better co-ordinated.

O turismo tem servido aos poucos como um instrumento de cooperação transfronteiriça. Neste texto analisou-se o turismo transfronteiriço luso-galego numa perspetiva de análise da cooperação em âmbitos como a promoção, a articulação empresarial e as mobilidades transfronteiriças.
