Resumo: Drawing and thinking architecture arises from the need for man to situate himself in the world, organizing the space that surrounds him, so that life can happen. It is in the organized space that he creates his memories, navigating himself through the body of senses and developing his own perception of the world. Therefore, the perception of the cosmos - as a set of emotions and sensations - influences man's being and the way he relates to what surrounds him. Furthermore, it is the interest of this essay to analyze and interpret the architectural space: the role of the architect in its design and the relation between architecture and man. The object of this dissertation is the architectural space thought according to a deconstruction in three parts: the body [in space], the perception [of space] and the identity [in architecture]. Confronting these parts, we aim to understand man as an agent in the architectural conception, as well as the influence architecture has on man's perception of the world. On the other hand, believing that architecture generates practical conditions for man's life it is our intension to produce a theoretical speech that links with individual practical experimentation. Once the subject is treated as an interpretive system of thought, it is in the interest of this research to focus on the architect's point of view, as far as his projectual process is concerned. It is intended, therefore, a methodology that values the interdisciplinarity that participates in space thinking and architectural design. Thus, believing that there is an intimate multi-sensorial, emotional and functional relation between man and architecture, questions of the phenomenology of space and hu- man sciences are evoked in the future speech, crossing theories of existence, space and man. We assume as a principle that architecture is the art of space that expresses itself as an image of human existence. It is our intention to demonstrate that a better knowledge of the man's perception of space induces a greater mastery of project design. Therefore, space is defended as an integral part of the existential universe - since its definition is possible only in the presence of other forms. The projectual design appears as the motor for the essay, allowing the text to develop according to the reflection that a practical exercise induces. Believing that the contemplative attitude is such a human value that confers immensity to the idea of ephemerality, the dissertation ends with the drawing of a contemplation space in the Scandinavian landscape.
