Resumo: Resulting from a genetic change where individuals instead of being born with 46 chromosomes are born with 47, Down's Syndrome is caused by the presence of three 21 chromosomes in all or most of the cells, resulting in several problems regarding the physical structure of the child such as hypotonia and laxity in the joints, consequently retarding motor development. The aim of this research was to investigate the particularities of this group and to develop a device to aid the progression of the lower limbs in children from 9 to 18 months, of domestic. The equipment consists of a structure that performs the exercise of squatting and when dismembered some of its parts make possible two exercises, being the balance and the climbing staircase, both having an important role in the process of child development. The process of creating the proposal had the participation of professionals from different areas - Design and Physiotherapy - Thus, it was possible to realize the importance of interdisciplinary in the development of new projects.

Com isso, nesta pesquisa objetivou-se pesquisar acerca das particularidades desse grupo e desenvolver um dispositivo para auxiliar o progresso dos membros inferiores em crianças, entre 09 a 18 meses, de uso doméstico. Esse equipamento consiste em uma estrutura principal que executa o exercício de agachamento e quando desmembrada, algumas de suas partes, possibilita outros dois exercícios, sendo o equilibrar e o subir escada, ambas tendo papel importante no processo de desenvolvimento da criança.
