Vestiges, activities and landscapes: lithic technology in an open air site in the Serra Leste de Carajás, Amazon

Resumo: The article aims to reflect on Carajás’ lithic technology as a way of dwelling the landscape, according to Ingold’s perspective. Thereby, by dwelling the landscapes, people perform different tasks that leave traces in the inhabited spaces, and, consequently, these realized activities contribute to the formation of the landscapes in which these people were. Based on this theoretical basis, a brief bibliographic review will be carried out on the research on lithic industries executed in the Carajás region, and after will be presented the case study of the lithic industry of the Serra Leste 1 site, located in Serra Leste de Carajás, in order to characterize the existing lithic taskscape in that site.

Así, al habitar los paisajes, las personas realizan diferentes tareas que dejan huellas en los espacios habitados y, consecuentemente, esas actividades realizadas contribuyen a la formación de los paisajes en los que las personas estuvieron. A partir de esta base teórica, se hará una breve revisión bibliográfica sobre las investigaciones acerca de industrias líticas realizadas en la región de Carajás y, posteriormente, se presentará el estudio de caso de la industria lítica del sitio Serra Leste 1, ubicado en la Serra Este de Carajás, a fin de caracterizar la taskscape lítica en este sitio.O artigo objetiva refletir sobre a tecnologia lítica na Serra Leste Carajás como uma forma de habitar a paisagem conforme a perspectiva ingoldiana. Assim, ao habitar as paisagens, as pessoas realizam diferentes tarefas, que deixam vestígios nos espaços habitados, e, consequentemente, essas atividades realizadas contribuem para a formação das paisagens nas quais essas pessoas estiveram.
