A different look at the same word: Laura’s existential suffering and existential phenomenological therapy

Resumo: The present article intends to reflect on a clinical case in light of the existential ontology proposed by the philosopher Martin Heidegger (1889-1976) and his analysis of the Dasein (daseinsanalysis). This perspective is used by Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist Medard Boss (1903-1990) to support his approach on the pathological phenomena in his clinic. In addition to delving into the general aspects of the clinical case per se, this piece seeks to clarify some dimensions of the patient´s experience from Boss´s perspective, especially on how she conducts her existence and on the notion of deprivation.

Esse pensamento é trazido pelo psiquiatra e psicoterapeuta suíço Medard Boss (1903-1990), para embasar sua maneira de abordar o fenômeno patológico em sua atividade clínica. Com a aliança entre os pensamentos de Heidegger e Boss, traremos a compreensão do modo de ser impróprio em Heidegger, o qual vem a ser o modo primário do Dasein, que, apesar de condicionante, também é possibilitador de transformação.
