Resumo: This revisits the classic literature on the brazilian homosexual movement (BHM). It endeavors to demonstrate how the notion of a foundation myth was spread and incorporated, along with the belief that all artisanal press of the movement, previous to Lampião da Esquina and with the exceptions of Snob and Gente Gay, contained only gossip and parodies. It also discusses the difficulties inherent to social movements, focusing specifically on those gathering disenfranchised groups, such as LGBTI+, Blacks, indigenous communities, women, and prostitutes. The paper suggests a procedural methodology that contemplates the challenge of overcoming the introjection of a disenfranchised identity. Its theoretical approach is based on Maria da Glória Gohn, E. P. Thompson, Peter Burke, Howard Becker, and Michel de Certeau.

Discute as dificuldades inerentes à categoria movimento social e demonstra como se deu a divulgação e a incorporação do mito fundador e da noção de que a imprensa gay artesanal, à exceção de Snob e Gente Gay, apenas conteria paródias e fofocas. Ao final, propõe uma metodologia para o exame da constituição de movimentos sociais cujos atores são marcados por dinâmicas de desqualificação ( pessoas LGBTI+, negros, povos originários, mulheres, prostitutas) que, ademais de processual, contemple o desafio consistente na superação a introjeção da identidade deteriorada.
