Resumo: | The possibility of parcial substitution of com by integral rice bran in swine nutrition was investigated at Santa Rosa Swine Evaluation Station, in Rio Grande do Sul State. This is the third research on rice by-products. Integral rice bran is made of rice polish and rice bran and contains 13.1% crude protein, 19.6% ether extract and 6.8% crude fiber. Forty castrated male pigs of the Large White breed were tested during the growing and fattening periods. The animais were divided into four groups in which com of the rations was gradually replaced by integral rice bran at percentages of 0,20,40 and 60%. The results showed nodifferences (P>0.05) on the slaughtering livewight, dai ly average weight gain, food conversion and carcass traces when using the integral rice bran. It can be as efficient as com when used up to the levei of 60%, or 43% of the diets for growing and fattening pigs. |

EVALUATION OF RICE BY-PRODUCTS IN SWINE NUTRITION. III. INTEGRAL RICE BRAN FOR GROWING-FINISHING AVALIAÇÃO DE SUBPRODUTOS DO ARROZ NA ALIMENTAÇÃO DE SUÍNOS. III. It can be as efficient as com when used up to the levei of 60%, or 43% of the diets for growing and fattening pigs.
