Resumo: | Objective: To describe and analyze new institutional strategies to face the low stock of blood bags in the face of the pandemic. Methods: This is a descriptive study, with a qualitative methodology, with a documental and bibliographical review, along the lines of a case report. There is an increase in the Institution's efforts in contacting its donors, encouraging them to return and make new donations, in addition to the search for intensifying collections at armed forces facilities. Results: In April 2020, the campaign “HEMORIO at home” was launched, which managed to increase stocks of blood bags during the first year of the pandemic, when the sanitary measures issued by the government of the State of RJ actually took place, reducing the distance and strengthening ties between the institution and donors. Conclusion: It appears that moments of crisis stimulate the process of ideation and creation of solutions in organizations in general, especially health institutions that need to implement a culture of innovation so that improvements are generated for the SUS and for society. |
