Mental health of chronic kidney patients facing the Covid-19 pandemic

Resumo: Objective: to analyze the mental health of chronic kidney patients in the scientific literature in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Refers to a bibliographic review, of the integrative research type, conducted in LILACS, MEDLINE VIA BVS, MEDLINE VIA PUBMED, BDENF, LILACS. Results: Fourteen articles were found, twelve of which were observational cross-sectional studies, one prospective cohort study and one randomized clinical trial, with levels of evidence respectively levels VI, IV, II. In addition, the authors evidenced the predominance of anxiety and depression at high levels in chronic kidney disease patients in the pandemic, according to the studies found. Conclusion: In short, it is observed that it is still a recent topic, but with significant importance for the mental health of chronic kidney patients, which highlights the vulnerability of patients with chronic kidney disease, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and emphasizes the damage to the mental health of patients due to social and family isolation and the fear of being infected by the disease.

Métodos: Se refiere a una revisión bibliográfica, de tipo investigación integradora, realizada en las bases de datos LILACS, MEDLINE VIA BVS, MEDLINE VIA PUBMED, BDENF, LILACS. Resultados: Se encontraron catorce artículos, de los cuales doce fueron estudios transversales observacionales, un estudio de cohorte prospectivo y un ensayo clínico aleatorizado, con niveles de evidencia respectivamente niveles VI, IV, II. Además, los autores evidenciaron el predominio de la ansiedad y la depresión en niveles elevados en pacientes con enfermedad renal crónica en la pandemia, según los estudios encontrados. Conclusión: En síntesis, se observa que es un tema aún reciente, pero de significativa importancia para la salud mental de los pacientes renales crónicos, lo que resalta la vulnerabilidad de los pacientes con enfermedad renal crónica, debido a la pandemia de COVID-19, y enfatiza el daño a la salud mental de los pacientes por el aislamiento social y familiar y el miedo a ser contagiados por la enfermedad.Objetivo: analisar na literatura científica a saúde mental dos pacientes renais crônicos no contexto da pandemia do COVID-19. Métodos: Refere-se à uma revisão bibliográfica, do tipo pesquisa integrativa conduzida nas bases de dados LILACS, MEDLINE VIA BVS/PUBMED, BDENF, LILACS. Resultados: Foram encontrados quatorze artigos, sendo doze de estudos transversais observacionais, um estudo coorte prospectivo e um ensaio clínico randomizado, tendo como níveis de evidência respectivamente nível VI, IV, II. Além disso, foi evidenciado pelos autores o predomínio de ansiedade e depressão em níveis elevados nos pacientes renais crônicos na pandemia conforme os estudos encontrados.
