This study seeks to understand the modality and conditions of the intervention with the man who is the author of domestic violence, from the perspective of accountability and prevention of violence, a reflective group, foreseen by Law 11.340 / 2006 (also called “Maria da Penha Law”), sent to the Court of Violence Against Women in the Municipality of Jaboatão dos Guararapes in the State of Pernambuco. In this research I accompany the interdisciplinary team and some reflective groups of the Violence Against Women Court, where I describe the methodologies used and verbalized narratives in the meetings, showing ideas about masculinity, violence and conjugability, in addition to questioning the legitimacy of Law 11.340 / 2006. The used methodology follows an ethnographic line, combining with observation of the participants, bibliographical research, interview with involved professionals and documentary analysis. The results were analyzed by data collected by the system of the Court of Justice and Civil Police of the State of Pernambuco, through judicial processes and criminal precedent sheets, where I seek the rate of criminal recidivism for the population of the author of violence against women, sentenced by the Maria da Penha law participating in the reflective groups.
