Resumo: The article aims to understand how algorithms can act in curating news on Instagram from a recommendation system. The proposal is provoked by the algo-torial dimension, (BONINI; GANDINI, 2019). In this way, a bibliographic review was carried out on the topics algorithms, recommendation systems and algo-torial, relating how they are presented on the Instagram platform. Through the research conducted, it was noticed that the algorithms play a role of filtering agents in the dissemination of news, also assuming the role of gatekeepers.

Assim, foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica sobre algoritmos, sistemas de recomendação e algo-torial, relacionando como se apresentam na plataforma Instagram.
