This research analyzes the role of FLPO ??? Federal Labour Prosecution Office in Brazil in the control of public policies to combat slave labor, a phenomenon that remains present in contemporary Brazil, although it constitutes a serious violation of human and fundamental rights provided for in the Federal Constitution. The objective is to analyze the forms and the limits of ministerial action in controlling these policies. It starts with the definition of human rights and fundamental rights to demonstrate their binding force before the State and then to recognize the right not to be enslaved as a fundamental right. Subsequently, the definition of slave labor, decent work and decent work is presented and the reality of this phenomenon is exposed in the contemporary world, particularly in Brazil. Then, we briefly formulate notions about public policies and address the need to implement public policies to eliminate slave labor. Then, we discuss the role FLPO in Brazil in controlling public policies to eradicate slave labor. As an example, we use the TAC - the conduct adjustment agreement signed by the State of Maranh??o before the FLPO in Brazil, the first within the scope of this institution that dealt specifically with the implementation of public policies to combat slave labor. Other pioneering actions performed by the FLPO in Brazil to demand the adoption of these policies are presented. It also indicates suggestions for improving ministerial action on the theme. It adopts a qualitative methodology, with bibliographic and documentary research and the use of official documents mainly from the FLPO in Brazil and Labor Justice. We seek to demonstrate new ways for greater effectiveness in ministerial action to combat slave labor in Brazil. The conclusion of this research is that the FLPO in Brazil has instruments to control and seek the concreteness of public policies to combat slave labor, and should expand and prioritize this action.
