Resumo: | This research aimed to analyze the conceptions of 22 students from the 1st year of high school, from a public school, about Thomson's Atomic Model, from the teaching strategies used by a Chemistry teacher and from the textbook information. For data collection, the textbook used by the participants was analyzed, a questionnaire was applied to the students and a semi-structured interview was conducted with the Chemistry teacher. From the Discursive Textual Analysis, categories and subcategories emerged that were analyzed within four axes: 1) The content of the textbook, 2) The answers of the teacher, 3) The answers of the students, 4) Confrontation of the Atomic Model of Thomson ( 1904) with the one found in the textbook and the students' answers. It was concluded that Thomson's Atomic Model is represented in the teaching of Chemistry by the analogy of “raisin pudding” and that this analogue is far from the model proposed by Thomson in 1904, making it difficult for students to understand correctly. |
