The aim of the current article is to show how the emergence of academic studies about the Regional School of Meriti has established the vereda (path) to write the local History Baixada Fluminense’s Education. Based on bibliographic survey, we herein present how the History of Education field at Baixada has expanded and opened room for other topics, regions and periodizations, as well as how these new paths can be interpreted in the year we celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the foundation of the former Regional School. By following the tradition of promoting accounts, we address the existence of a “stranding material” for the History of Education at Grande Sertão Baixada in order to show its epistemological innovation ability. The identification and analysis of what was produced aim at encouraging further analytical unfolding and interpretations in the field, at recording questions and gaps, and at indicating aspects that have not yet been explored.
