Resumo: The present paper aims to point out the motivations of an art historian regarding the challenges this discipline has faced in the past three decades. With an evident autobiographical approach, the text makes conceptual choices, elected notions, and uses brega as a methodological practice to construct approaches to art. We also suggest some epistemological models to understand artistic production, whether by making the authors of the text explicit, or by partnerships of what we call a community of interpreters.

Con un evidente enfoque autobiográfico, el texto toma decisiones conceptuales, elige nociones y utiliza la brega como práctica metodológica para construir enfoques del arte. También sugerimos algunos modelos epistemológicos para entender la producción artística, ya sea haciendo explícitos a los autores del texto, o mediante asociaciones de lo que llamamos una comunidad de intérpretes.O presente texto busca pontuar as motivações de um historiador da arte frente aos desafios dessa disciplina nas últimas três décadas. De evidente trato autobiográfico, o texto percorre escolhas conceituais, as noções eleitas e usa a brega como prática metodológica para construir as abordagens da arte.
