Electronic monitoring as a measure to protect female victims of violence

Resumo: This article aims to address the concepts and experiences of electronic monitoring of male aggressors as a measure to protect female victims of violence. Adopting documentary and bibliographic research as a methodology, it was found that the fact this measure was recently deployed in Brazil (4 years ago) requires advances both in terms of formalizing the application of this measure and evaluating actions that directly affect the social actors concerned. At the first moment, the theme is addressed in a general way, then data on violence against women are analyzed, as well as concepts and aspects related to the origin of electronic monitoring.

En el marco de la investigación documental y bibliográfica como metodología, se constató que el hecho de que la medida haya sido implantada recientemente en Brasil (hace 4 años) requiere avances tanto en términos de formalizar la aplicación de esta medida como de evaluar las acciones que afecten directamente a los actores sociales en cuestión. En el primer momento, se aborda el tema en carácter general y, a continuación, se analizan datos sobre la violencia contra la mujer, así como conceptos y aspectos relativos al origen del monitoreo electrónico.O presente artigo tem como objetivo abordar os conceitos e experiências do monitoramento eletrônico de homens agressores, como medida de proteção às mulheres vítimas de violência. Tendo como metodologia a pesquisa documental e bibliográfica, foi percebido que a medida foi implantada recentemente no Brasil, há 3 anos, sendo preciso avançar com a formalização da aplicação da medida e a avaliação de ações que atuem diretamente junto aos atores sociais em questão.
