Resumo: | The COVID-19 pandemic has further revealed social inequalities and problems related to sanitation and access to potable water in Brazil. The worsening of this reality is due to the fact that the virus is found in water and untreated sewage, in addition to the lack of access. This essay aims to answer whether public policies on access to potable water can be a factor in reducing social inequalities in times of a pandemic? Therefore, the current panorama of the right of access to potable water was analyzed, to verify the relationship between this right and the pandemic, aiming to propose a new paradigm of these public policies, with equitable and universal access. The methodology uses the systemic-complex base, connecting knowledge, with bibliographic analysis procedure, and the file technique. In the end, there was a need to change the paradigm of access to potable water for the implementation of actions within public policies under the protection of effective administrative supervision, aimed at reducing inequalities and greater protection of life, especially at the time of COVID-19 pandemic, in which water is a fundamental element in helping hygiene, well-being, food, nutrition and the dignity of the entire community. |

ACCESS TO POTABLE WATER TO REDUCE INEQUALITIES IN COVID 19 TIMES IN BRAZILAcesso à água potável para redução de desigualdades em tempos da COVID-19 no BrasilÁgua potável. Covid 19.
