Resumo: | Introduction - The referential of skills of the professionals of information, that appeared a little everywhere at the end of the twentieth century, have served as guiding axis in the definitions of the profiles and functions of this professional group. The international level one of the referential with greater geographic coverage is the Euro-Referencial of ECIA. Objectives- In recent years it has been questioned the validity of this instrument and if it effectively encompasses the set of competencies the profession that is constantly changing. From interviews made the 30 graduates from Degree in Information Sciences and Documentation of the Universidade Aberta, which mostly already performed functions in Information Units, sought to assess the relevance and validity of this document. Methodology - The group identified the twelve powers more significant for the performance of their profession, taking the analysis of results was performed according to the professional category and the typology of libraries/services where exerted a professional activity. Results - The study revealed that these professionals knew identify the essential competencies in function of responsibilities and tasks inherent to their posts and also the bodies where they were exercising the professional activities. Conclusions – The results allow to affirm that this guiding instrument of the profession, continues to be valid. |

A nivel internacional uno de los referenciales con mayor amplitud geográfica es el Euro-Referencial del ECIA. Objetivo - Al largo de de los últimos años se ha cuestionado sobre la validez de este instrumento y si este efectivamente engloba el conjunto vasto de cualificaciones de una profesión que está en constante cambio. A partir de entrevistas hechas a 30 graduados de la Licenciatura en Ciencias de la Información de la Universidade Aberta, que mayoritariamente ya desempeñaba funciones en Unidades de información, pretendió evaluar-se la pertinencia y la validez de este documento. Metodología - El grupo identifico las doce competencias más significativas para el desempeño de su profesión, teniendo el análisis de resultados sido hecha en función de la categoría profesional y de la tipología de bibliotecas/servicios donde ejercían la actividad profesional. Resultados - El estudio reveló que estos profesionales sabían identificar las competencias esenciales en función de las responsabilidades y tareas inherentes a sus cargos y también a los organismos donde ejercían las actividades profesionales. Conclusiones – Los resultados permiten afirmar que este instrumento rector de la profesión, sigue siendo válido.Introdução - Os referenciais de competências dos profissionais da informação, que surgiram um pouco por toda a parte nos finais do século XX, têm servido como eixo orientador nas definições dos perfis e funções deste grupo profissional. A nível internacional um dos referenciais com maior abrangência geográfica é o EuroReferencial do ECIA. Objetivo - Nos últimos anos tem-se questionado a validade deste instrumento e se ele efetivamente engloba o conjunto de competências duma profissão que está em constante mutação. A partir de entrevistas feitas a 30 graduados da Licenciatura em Ciências da Informação e Documentação da Universidade Aberta, que maioritariamente já desempenhava funções em Unidades de Informação, pretendeu avaliar-se a pertinência e a validade deste documento. Metodologia – O grupo identificou as doze competências mais significativas para o desempenho da sua profissão, tendo a análise de resultados sido feita em função da categoria profissional e da tipologia de bibliotecas/serviços onde exerciam a atividade profissional.
