Racialization of borders: ukranian children and biopolitics in migration

Resumo: This article aims to discuss, based on the Ukrainian migration flow, to explore how racialization of borders and the biopolitics of migration affect migrant children. The specific objectives are: contextualizing the conflict in Ukraine and the Ukrainian migration flows; presenting normatives concerning children and adolescents affected by war; and examining the racialization of borders and the biopolitics of migration in light of Ukrainian children's experiences. The research problem was: what are the impacts of racialization of borders and biopolitics on migrant children considering the migration flow from Ukraine? We started from the hypothesis that the migration of Ukrainian children - although also a violation of rights - differs from the migration of children from countries that are part of the so-called unwanted migrations, since biopolitics also impacts the lives of children on the move. In this case, the approach method was deductive and the procedure method was monographic. Bibliographic and documentary research techniques were used. Bibliographic and documentary research techniques were used. The results revealed that the racialization of borders and biopolitics in migration affect, directly and substantially, migrant children, determining who enters and who will receive greater social protection in the country of destination.

Os objetivos específicos são: contextualizar a guerra na Ucrânia e os fluxos migratórios ucranianos; apresentar a normativa de proteção a crianças e adolescentes em contextos armados; e debater a racialização das fronteiras e a biopolítica nas migrações, a partir da situação das crianças ucranianas. O problema de pesquisa formulado foi: considerando o fluxo migratório proveniente da guerra na Ucrânia, sob quais formas a racialização das fronteiras e a biopolítica nas migrações atingem as crianças migrantes? Partiu-se da hipótese de que a migração das crianças ucranianas – ainda que igualmente violadora de direitos – se difere da migração de crianças provenientes dos países que integram as chamadas migrações não-desejadas, operando a biopolítica também sobre as vidas das crianças em movimento. O método de abordagem foi o dedutivo e o método de procedimento, monográfico. Foram utilizadas as técnicas de pesquisa bibliográfica e documental.
