Resumo: Family farming is responsible for much of the food supply of the Brazilian. However, despite its importance in the national agricultural scene, the family farm goes through processes of transformations and adaptations to breed, generate income and fulfill their social role. In a country with strong agrarian roots centered on large estates, with public policies, largely for agribusiness, family farming is not answered in an efficient and functional way by the programs and policies targeted to the sector. This study aimed to analyze focused on strengthening family agriculture policies, as a case study presents the City of Prudentópolis - PR, in the context of rural South Central territory, with emphasis on agricultural credit of the National Program for the Strengthening of Agriculture family (PRONAF). However, what was observed in relation to contracts for the acquisition of PRONAF - in all forms - a tiny number if we compare the amount of establishment of family farming in this region. You can see that even seeking alternative ways and non-agricultural activities, many families can not resist the difficulties they face and leave the field. What are these resistance strategies that enable farm families to remain in the rural areas? We aimed to investigate the forms of resistance in order to understand the family farm in the process of resistance and transformation, wrought by their subjects, in the studied area. We sought to understand the interrelationship of the processes involved historically in order to understand the current reality of family farmers. It was found that the forms of resistance encountered by these families are fundamental to its socioeconomic reproduction, however, the state's role as developers of public policy agent is not effective for that family farming reach autonomy in its reproduction and be recognized in your socioeconomic role.

Made available in DSpace on 2017-07-21T18:15:15Z (GMT).
