Resumo: Sana river sub-basin shows erosive features which indicate high susceptibility to erosion in case of soil exposure, although it is preserved because it has been a tourist place and its occupation is relatively small. Along its main road, cut slopes expose erodible soils which generate problems of social and economic order. Thus, this work aims to classify the comparative erodibility of these materials through consistency and eroded mass by surface runoff and simulated rain drops, in order to characterize their erodibilities. A representative cut slope with exposing soils of this region was selected and disturbed and undisturbed samples of pedological (B) and saprolitic horizons (C) were collected to perform physical characterization and geotechnical tests, through modified Inderbitzen tests. Results showed that the saprolitic horizons are much more erodible than the pedological ones, therefore slope cuts in the region must be carried out taking into account these erodibility differences between the horizons in order to reduce landslide risks and costs with containment works as well as to guarantee the safety of local population.
