This doctoral thesis was intended to discuss the concentration of the food market by large transnational corporations and the damage to the protection of the human right to food arising from this scenario. The study thus revolves around the power of transnational food companies, which is often much greater than that of a National State. In this sense, it seeks to verify the role of the State in the formulation of public policies relevant to the topic, as well as the responsibility of companies, especially regarding the supply of food products that have been contributing substantially to the increase in obesity and chronic diseases related to it. Finally, it turns to the analysis of normative acts, at the national level, and those from international bodies, which seek to regulate the Human Right to Adequate Food and provide for responsibiliteis of companies in cases of human rights violations.
