Aplicação do ensino-aprendizado em educação a distância (EAD) em biossegurança para os profissionais de saúde

Distance Learning (DL) has become increasingly present in the disciplinary curricula aimed at training and professional qualification. This study proposes the implementation of Distance Learning in Health Biosafety for the Master Program in Health, Laboratory Medicine and Forensic Technology (MPMLTF), also in Human Molecular Biology Specialization at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). MPMLTF, a thity-five-student group and EBMH, a six-student group had their online classes under the Educational Intervention method in 2015 and 2016. A thirty-hour duration course, consisting of 5 interactive modules of classes, tasks, forums, web conferences, tests and also in-class tests were available on UERJ website to assist the graduation course students. The paired Wilcoxon statistical test was used to provide the degree of learning achievement after the application of pre and post-tests. There were statistically significant differences between pre-test and post-test (p-value<0.0001). The median pre-test score was 4.6 (IQR=2) and post-test 8.00 (OQR=1.9). The following was evaluated: (i) the course content, (ii) dynamics of the video classes, (iii) modules availability, (iv) classes and the didactic material access, (v) supporting material quality, (vi) web conferences, (Vii) learning achievement, and (viii) tasks mentoring and forums evaluated by students. The DL program evaluation varied from good to excellent, concerning teaching and learning achievement. The strengths and weaknesses were identified and employed the course improvement, the feedback elaboration and the increase in the number of web conferencing. The purpose of the results of the present study is to offer the discipline of Health Biosafety in undergraduate, extension, and graduation courses to a number of Health Institutions in the country.
