This thesis has the objective to analyses the political trajectory of Silvestre Pinheiro Ferreira, exploring the dynamics of his political relations in the process of formation of the strategies in the foreign affairs of the Luso-brazilian Empire, between the years 1797 and 1825, given that such trajectory was linked to the main events and personalities which dictated the course and the rhythm followed, in face of adversities caused by the French Revolution and subsequent Napoleonic domain. In other words, it was intended to emphasize the political obstacles which Pinheiro Ferreira was submitted in consequence of his actions related of diplomatic issues and, thereby, examine the main themes that enabled that his biography became one of the most instigating and peculiar of the Luso-brazilian history. Throughout his career, he acquired extensive experience which gave him recognized ability in the foreign relations, fundamental to the development of his subsequent liberal constitutional doctrine. However, this experience was built not only over a dedicated work, but, mainly, over many mishaps. And these mishaps signalized to a very important fact: how could be fluids the positions and relations between the individuals of a same public sphere, although declaredly they put themselves in parity of ideas or on opposite sides on the power game. Therefore, it was observed that the Silvestre Pinheiro experience living, beyond very rich, it has the potential of become an efficient instrument for the research about these political links, in the sense of being seen as parameter for its dynamics.
