Relevância do Programa Residência Pedagógica na formação de professores de educação física: uma visão discente

The present study aimed to verify and analyze the importance and the contributions of the Pedagogical Residency (RP) in the formation of the Physical Education undergraduate - Licenciatura - Ufal from the experiences obtained by the residents of public schools in the city of Maceió - AL. This program is part of the national policy of teacher training, and seeks to introduce the improvement of practical training in undergraduate courses, promoting the immersion of the student in the basic education school from the second half of its course. The sample consisted of 20 residents (80% of the population), eight male and twelve female. The instrument used for data collection was a semi-structured questionnaire. The results show that the interviewees analyze the experience of PR as important for their academic formation, among the identified contributions were mentioned the development and appreciation of the teaching profession; adaptation and awareness of working conditions; development of reflection on teaching practice; development of new teaching and learning methodologies and autonomy in their practice. Considering the importance and contributions of the Pedagogical Residency Program, we conclude that it needs to be solidified as a non-mandatory part in Physical Education courses - Licenciatura, as well as a policy of continuing education for teachers in the education network.
