The present study is the result of a survey carried out in two distinct locations in the municipality of Delmiro Gouveia - Alagoas, in the northeastern sertão, using as a space cut: Presidente Castelo Branco Avenue, downtown and the Rosa de Saron Condominium located in Bairro Novo. The increase of the built-up areas has affected the temperatures of the city, implying in the increase and the difference of the time of absorption of solar energy during the day and of its re-emission at night, making it slower and warmer. The heat island is a consequence of the urbanization process and this is aggravated by the evolution of population growth. Thus, the objective of this work is to make a comparative analysis between these two points, and thus identify the heat island, where it occurs and at what time its effects are most perceived, considering the humidity and temperature. For this, it was fundamental and necessary to use a digital hygrometer for data collection, always at the same time (morning, afternoon and night), during the days 10 to 25 of November of 2018. In this perspective, the comparative study of these two points are necessary to understand the factors that lead to the worsening of their effects, and which results respectively. It is necessary to understand this whole process so that through the results obtained, it is possible to look for measures and alternatives that can somehow minimize the thermal discomfort caused by high local temperatures and promote sustainable means through alternatives such as green areas to improve living conditions in the city.
