This final paper was the result of a publication of a paper in the magazine Paranoá Cadernos de Arquitetura e Urbanismo entitled “Investments Analysis in Rainwater Use in the Cities of the Inner State of Alagoas” and aimed to evaluate the amount invested in three municipalities of the state, in rainwater harvesting systems. The methodology used is based on the studies by Ghisi et al. (2006) to analyze the potential of rainwater saving in the municipalities, which is necessary to budget the rainwater conduction system and, finally, the investment was analyzed based in the multiannual plan of the State of Alagoas. Rainfall data from the cities were collected by the National Sanitation Information System (Sistema Nacional de Informações de Saneamento, SNIS) along with the other informations. Finally, it could be concluded that the cities have a potential of over 50% that when compared with public policies, it was shown that the investment represents less than 1% of what was foreseen for the multiannual plan. Moreover, the implementation of this policy may bring benefits in various spheres of society, such as income generation, public health and economic growth.
