This qualitative study explores perceptions about career benefits and challenges among women working in technology in Manaus, Amazonas. Detailed interviews were carried out with women of different ages, salary ranges, and technical training. The study examined issues related to positions in the field, professional goals, and perceptions of gender equality. Research shows persistent gender inequality in technology, with some women still facing discrimination or stigma. Despite progress in women's training, gender barriers remain evident, with women underrepresented in technical courses. Additionally, the study explores challenges and opportunities in the technology sector, including fierce competition and the need for continuous technological updates. Some participants noted knowledge gaps, especially those with little prior exposure to technology. Organizational culture and professional networks play an important role in women's career development. However, horizontally, women are concentrated in certain professions, and vertically, professional segregation still exists, with only a small number of women occupying management positions. Future studies are encouraged to increase sample sizes, consider women's self-perceptions in traditionally male-dominated regions, and expand the study to other geographic areas. This study highlights the importance of understanding women's technological experiences and views of the workplace.
