“Conta, Manas”: relato de experiência de uma biblioteca humana com mulheres da comunidade, ciência e ativistas sociais

The occupation of spaces in science, in the community and in social activism by women can be identified as an important phenomenon for the promotion of female representation in scenarios that were not included before, and based on the social reflections arising from feminism, this collective struggle for equal rights grew beyond gender guidelines. In the “Conta, Manas” project, the 4th Human Library was promoted, focusing on women from the Amazon. Through a project by the Faculty of Psychology of the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM), the objective of this report was to generate debate about the importance of the activities carried out and to give visibility to the participation of women in the community, scientific and social mobilization environments in the Amazon. The human library is a resource adopted with the purpose of using “living books” to dialogue with anyone who is interested, being developed for six months. The method involved the participation of professionals from different areas of knowledge, researchers from interdisciplinary areas in the area of ​​health and education, in addition to Amazonian women identified as “living books”. The results managed to expose in practice the realization of an event that was planned over the course of six months that promoted an exchange of experiences and perspectives, allowing people to get out of their bubbles and broaden their understanding of the reality of others.
