The Theme of Intellectual Property as Part of the Training of Students in the Technical Courses of the Federal Institutes of the North Region

Resumo: Considering the importance of disseminating and providing essential knowledge to technical high school students about intellectual property, linked to innovation and entrepreneurship, the general objective of the work was to analyze how technical education, in Federal Institutes of Education, deals with the topic in the context of curriculum. The research was based on the collection of primary data (bibliographic survey) and on documental research. There was a curricular gap in technical secondary education in Federal Institutes, in relation to the approach to intellectual property. Specific disciplines dealing with the subject should be created, in addition to curricular activities that allow offering knowledge to students, enabling them to recognize the importance of protecting creative activity, as innovation and the basis of entrepreneurship. The final product of the research was the elaboration of a comic book, as an instrument that can arouse students' interest on the subject, considering the dynamic, simple informative character, but with effective educational potential.

A pesquisa baseou-se na coleta de dados primários (levantamento bibliográfico) e em pesquisa documental. Constatou-se uma lacuna curricular no ensino médio técnico nos Institutos Federais, com relação à abordagem da propriedade intelectual. Devem ser criadas disciplinas específicas tratando do tema, além de atividades curriculares que permitam oferecer conhecimentos aos discentes, capacitando-os para que reconheçam a importância de se proteger a atividade criadora como inovação e base do empreendedorismo.
