The milito flour from Tarauacá is an artisanal product appreciated in the state of Acre, with the potential to obtain a Geographical Indication (GI). The objective of this study was to assess the feasibility of a GI for milito flour produced in Tarauacá, located in the state of Acre, Brazil. Initially, a systematic review of Tarauacá's milito flour was conducted; subsequently, an exploratory qualitative research was carried out, collecting primary and secondary data that provided information about the possibility of a GI for Tarauacá's milito flour, AC. It was found that the production of milito flour follows the same process as traditional cassava flour, differing only in the roasting process, which imparts unique sensory characteristics to this flour. Being a product originating and typical of Tarauacá, with qualities that harken back to its origin, the creation of a GI for this product could increase its recognition throughout the country and promote socioeconomic and cultural development in the region.
