Resumo: The study aims to analyze how the relationship between the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL) and the University Foundation for Extension and Research Development (FUNDEPES), a registered and accredited entity to support research, teaching, extension and institutional, scientific development projects and technological in Alagoas, can strengthen the Technological Innovation Center (NIT/UFAL). The research was carried out through information extracted from official websites of Ufal, Fundepes and other bodies. The results show existing gaps in the standard that disciplines the relationship between Ufal and Fundepes, with the need to update the national guidelines contained in the new Law on Innovation enacted in 2016. Thus, the proposal to update this standard to improve the relationship between Ufal and Fundepes boosts the strengthening of the NIT, seeking to obtain a better performance in terms of reducing bureaucracy in processes and managing intellectual property, stimulating innovation in the State.

A pesquisa foi realizada por meio de informações extraídas de sites oficiais da Ufal, Fundepes e outros órgãos. Os resultados mostram lacunas existentes na norma que disciplina o relacionamento entre a Ufal e a Fundepes, com necessidades de atualização às diretrizes nacionais constantes na nova Lei de Inovação promulgada em 2016.
