Resumo: Objective: to analyze the relationship between the risk of violence and the quality of life of elderly community members. Methods: a cross-sectional study, developed with 159 elderly people registered in family health teams. The following instruments were used: Hwalek-Sengstock Elder Abuse Screening Test; World Health Organization Instrument to Evaluate Quality of Life. Results: the risk of violence was higher among the elderly with low quality of life through association tests (62.5%; p=0.380) and correlation (r=-0.244). There was a statistically significant difference (p=0.013) between quality of life of groups with and without risk for violence, and the analysis of logistic regression confirms that high quality of life is a protective factor for the exposure of the elderly to situations of abuse (Odds Ratio = 0.96; p=0.01). Conclusion: there was an inverse relationship between quality of life and risk of violence.

Métodos: estudo transversal, desenvolvido com 159 idosos cadastrados em equipes de saúde da família. Utilizaram-se instrumentos a seguir: Hwalek-Sengstock Elder Abuse Screening Test; World Health Organization Instrument to Evaluate Quality of Life. Universidade Federal do Ceará2021-02-23info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionTextoTextoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/otherapplication/pdfapplication/pdfhttp://periodicos.ufc.br/rene/article/view/6096610.15253/2175-6783.20212260966Rev Rene; Vol 22 (2021): Rev Rene; e60966Rev Rene; v. 22 (2021): Rev Rene; e609662175-67831517-3852reponame:Rev Rene (Online)instname:Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC)instacron:UFCporenghttp://periodicos.ufc.br/rene/article/view/60966/165709http://periodicos.ufc.br/rene/article/view/60966/165710Copyright (c) 2021 Rev Renehttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessRaposo, Matheus FariasSoares, Jefferson da SilvaAraújo-Monteiro, Gleicy Karine Nascimento deSantos, Renata Clemente dosBraga, João Euclides FernandesQueiroga Souto, RafaellaBrandão, Barbara Maria Lopes da Silva2021-02-23T20:14:52Zoai:periodicos.ufc:article/60966Revistahttp://periodicos.ufc.br/renePUBhttp://periodicos.ufc.br/rene/oairene@ufc.br||2175-67831517-3852opendoar:2021-02-23T20:14:52Rev Rene (Online) - Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC)false
