Resumo: This article is a description and analysis of Torém, the ritual dance of the Indians of Tremembé Itarema in the state of Ceara. This Indian group is also known for its skilled craftsmen, and manufacturing mocororó, a drink made from cashew nuts. The Torém is the highest form of cultural resistance and which brought them fame and social differentiation, and a dance this very special people. Also addresses some elements that are part of this dance as the tools, music and drink that is served during the ritual, the mocororó. The study aims to examine the cultural expression of indigenous people in a critical and descriptive, and to contextualize and historicize the productions already published, as well as instigating the debate on indigenous studies.

Esse grupo indígena também é conhecido por seus exímios artesãos, e pela fabricação do mocororó, bebida feita de caju. O Torém é a maior forma de resistência cultural e que lhes trouxe diferenciação e notoriedade social, sendo uma dança totalmente particular deste povo. O artigo aborda ainda alguns elementos que fazem parte dessa dança como os instrumentos, as músicas e a bebida que é servida durante o ritual, o mocororó.
