With the rise of the internet and the digital economy, the world has been trying to adapt to these great changes that are constantly arriving at great speed and need to be quickly absorbed by the market. This research uses the exploratory study of reports from several Central Banks, magazines, articles and contemporary authors around the world such as Bordo, Levin and Prasad. Then using this method to present the phenomenon of digitalization of the economy and transactions between economic agents and how new technological changes provide advances and challenges within these activities. With an analysis addressing historical aspects, from a retrospective view of the evolution of digital media and the phenomenon of economic digitization, in order to understand the current reality and speculate about the future of digital media within society. For that, it will be necessary to address, conceptualize and show the importance of the digitalization phenomenon, as well as that of confidence in the process of consolidating these changes, following later with the description of the emergence and functioning of blockchain, CBDC's and fintechs in the financial system, as well as also the challenges behind these new tools. In the end, the research defines how this digital phenomenon can be an important means of economic and social policies, which, although intensified by dichotomous views, are the most promising way of making changes related to the well-being of society.
