This work pretends to evaluate atmospheric emissions from the processes related to asphalt paving works (production, transportation and placement of asphalt mixtures). Asphalt paving services promote the development of large urban centers, as they facilitate the transportation of goods and population. However, they bring various environmental products, especially air pollution. For the accomplishment of these objectives, passive sampling methods were used for the quantification of asphalt fumes (NO2 and SO2) and active sampling for the quantification of total particulate matter (TPM). The results showed that the concentrations of particulate material in the plant were higher than the other activities (transportation and placement). During the transportation of the asphalt mixture, the concentrations of NO2 and SO2 were much higher than the measurements carried out during their placement. The determining factor in the emission of asphalt fumes was the temperature, although other factors, such as the current meteorological conditions, may have contributed to the dispersion of the pollutants, especially during the placement of the asphalt mixture.
