Resumo: This work has as theme the investigation process of arboreal species production and development, directed for production of grown wood experimental area, specifically the study of arboretum 1, located at Campus do Pici, in Universidade Federal do Ceará, Fortaleza. Had as objective describe qualitative and quantitative characteristics of forest species contained in the said arboretum, by notation and classification of individuals, structural sizing, as well as found situation description. The methodical procedure used has as base the qualitative and quantitative description of directly observed species by field research between may of 2020 and june of 2021. The found results made possible to characterize the arboretum in study by identification of species by popular and scientifical names, family which it belongs, quantity by family, nominal dimensions of stem base sections and plant height parameters. In conclusion, the use of arboretum gathering collections with economical potential is an considerable strategy for academic application, making the possibility of increasing and diffusion of the made knowledge.

In conclusion, the use of arboretum gathering collections with economical potential is an considerable strategy for academic application, making the possibility of increasing and diffusion of the made knowledge.Este trabalho se enquadra na temática de investigação do processo de produção e desenvolvimento de espécies arbóreas, com fins voltados para a produção de madeira cultivadas em área experimental controlada, especificamente, o estudo das condições do arboreto 1 situado no campus do Pici, da Universidade Federal do Ceará, em Fortaleza. Teve como objetivo descrever as características qualitativas e quantitativas das espécies florestais contidas no referido arboreto, por meio do levantamento e classificação dos indivíduos, dimensionamento de suas características estruturais, bem como a descrição situacional encontrada. O procedimento metodológico utilizado baseou-se nas abordagens de descrição qualitativa e quantitativa das espécies acompanhadas diretamente por meio de pesquisa de campo no período compreendido entre maio de 2020 a junho de 2021. Os resultados encontrados possibilitaram caracterizar o arboreto em estudo através da identificação das espécies por nomes popular e científico, famílias as quais pertencem, quantidades por família, dimensões nominais de seções da base do caule e parâmetros inerentes à altura das plantas.
