Resumo: The aim of this article is to analize the new National Syllabus Guidelines for Higher Education and, more specifically, the new process of course reform designed for Physical Education B.A programs. As such, this article aims at contributing to the debate over those guidelines in the context of course reform for these courses, from the starting point of the representations of public school teachers which are related to their knowledge and skills, their initial education, and their professional performance.
