Resumo: Abstract The article on screen presents a narrative that contextualizes and articulates the life and work of the french philosopher and sociologist Henri Lefebvre (1901-1991). Brief and punctual notes, we believe that a text of this nature fulfills part of the function - somewhat neglected by brazilian academics – of clarifying the circumstances in which some of the insights were born. Innovative reflections that since the 1970s have proved to be tools for observing, analyzing and deciphering space, this key concept of geographic science. So, considering that the “dating” and “location” of lefebvrean démarches, that is, their subordination to a specific zeitgeist, certainly helps us to understand, refine, and finally use them more appropriately. Space.El artículo en lienzo presenta una narrativa que contextualiza y articula la vida y obra del filósofo y sociólogo francés Henri Lefebvre (1901-1991). Incluso a partir de notas breves y puntuales, creemos que un texto de esta naturaleza cumple parte de la función – un tanto descuidada por los académicos brasileños – de esclarecer las circunstancias en las que nacieron algunas de los insights socioespaciales de este pensador. Reflexiones innovadoras que desde la década de 1970 han demostrado ser importantes herramientas para observar, analizar y descifrar el espacio, este concepto clave de la ciencia geográfica. Pues bien, consideramos que la “datación” y la “ubicación” de las gestiones lefebvreanas, es decir, su subordinación a un zeitgeist particular, ciertamente nos ayuda a comprenderlas, afinarlas y, finalmente, utilizarlas de forma más adecuada. Espacio.O artigo em tela apresenta uma narrativa que contextualiza e articula a vida e a obra do filósofo e sociólogo francês Henri Lefebvre (1901-1991). Mesmo calcado em apontamentos breves e pontuais, acreditamos que um texto dessa natureza cumpre parte da função – um tanto negligenciada pelos acadêmicos brasileiros – de esclarecer as circunstâncias em que nasceram alguns dos insights socioespaciais desse pensador. Reflexões inovadoras que desde os anos 1970 têm-se revelado importantes ferramentas de observação, análise e decifração do espaço, esse conceito-chave da ciência geográfica. Pois, consideramos que a “datação” e “localização” das démarches lefebvreanas, ou seja, sua subordinação à um zeitgeist específico, por certo nos ajuda a compreendê-las, refiná-las e por fim aplica-las de modo mais apropriado.
