Resumo: The guiding principles of human rights, endorsed by the United Nations Human Rights Council, are based on three pillars: protecting, respecting and repairing. Business, especially if the second pillar, respect. Thus, all companies have a responsibility to respect human rights, complying with all applicable laws, and also following an ethical business standard. The purpose of this essay is to explain how compliance can be an instrument to be used by companies to comply with human rights standards, whether international or national. As specific objectives, this article will demonstrate the compliance institute and will point out reasons for adopting a human rights compliance program at the corporate level. The problem brought by the research is: How can compliance be useful for protecting human rights in business? The research is justified by the relevance of the theme, and with appropriate instruments, companies can implement measures to meet the highest national and international standards and, thus, can even aim to increase their profits and / or at least reduce your risks. The methodology used for the research is the deductive hypothesis, using the bibliographic research, with the analysis of legislation and specialized literature with the theme. As a preview of the results of the study, compliance can be said to be an excellent tool for business entities to adapt to the system of respect for human rights.

As a preview of the results of the study, compliance can be said to be an excellent tool for business entities to adapt to the system of respect for human rights.
